Dr Stephen-Claude Hyatt

Clinical Health Psychologist and Traumatologist

Dr Stephen-Claude Hyatt is a clinical health psychologist with experience in the treatment of a broad range of mental illnesses. As a traumatologist with specialized training and proficiency in the research and treatment of trauma and crisis intervention at the individual, familial and corporate levels, he incorporates mindfulness and narrative therapy into his overarching Cognitive Behavior Therapy approach.

Dr. Hyatt was the lead psychologist assigned to work with individuals impacted by the Tianjin chemical explosion in 2015, the lead psychologist entrusted with working with families and friends of those on the missing Malaysian Airlines MH370 in 2014, and assisted residents during the devasting earthquake In Sichuan China in 2008. Dr Hyatt has been a therapist for over two decades. He has worked with patients from the Caribbean, North & South America, Europe, The United Kingdom, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

He served as Chief School Psychologist at Jamaica College in Jamaica for six years and thereafter worked as a Clinical Psychologist at a psychotherapeutic clinic, and lectured graduate students in Psychology, and medical students in psychological formulations, at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica, and at the Capital Medical University in China. Dr Hyatt started working with International SOS in China in July 2009, becoming head of the department the following year. He served as department head for the Mental Health and Counseling Department for 8 years, even after ISOS transitioned to Raffles Medical in 2016.
